Snake

This piece is a collaboration between myself and my friend, Mark Ambagis, blending geometric design with the visual language of the American Southwest. Drawing from the landscapes and patterns I grew up around in New Mexico, the composition combines bold desert-inspired motifs with intricate ornamental detail to create something that feels both ancient and contemporary.

The bold red palette evokes desert sunsets, canyon walls, and the intense warmth of the Southwestern landscape, while the black line work provides depth and contrast. By combining ornamental illustration, geometric structure, and iconic desert imagery, the piecebecomes a celebration of place—honoring the culture, terrain, and artistic influences that shaped us while pushing them into a modern graphic aesthetic.

The collaboration reflects both of our artistic voices: Mark's illustrative storytelling and natural imagery paired with my attraction to symmetry, pattern work, and bold geometric design. Together, the piece bridges fine art, tattoo influence, and Southwestern heritage into a single striking composition.
