Terms of service

Edition House (editionhouse.art), operated by Point Aloha LLC Last updated: July 16, 2026

These terms govern your use of editionhouse.art and any purchase you make through it. By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these terms.

Who we are

Edition House is a multi-artist art marketplace operated by Point Aloha LLC, a Hawaii limited liability company. Artwork is created by independent artists (currently Simon Halpern) and sold through this site.

Products

We sell three kinds of items, tied to the same release:

  1. Original artwork — a single, one-of-one piece, sold via live auction.
  2. Founder Edition prints — a limited run of 10 prints per size, made from the original after it's photographed at print resolution.
  3. Open Edition prints — unlimited, made-to-order prints, released only after Founder Edition prints for that piece sell out.

Pricing

Founder Edition prices are individually set per piece and size. Open Edition prices start at the Founder Edition price plus a fixed increase, and rise after every Open Edition sale of that size — the price you see at checkout is the price you pay, but the price for the next buyer may be higher. This escalation is intentional and disclosed here so it isn't a surprise.

Auctions

Original artworks are sold through our auction partner, Tipo. By placing a bid, you're making a binding offer to purchase the item at that price if you win. The seller (Edition House) sets a minimum bid / reserve for each auction; items may not sell if the reserve isn't met.

Payment window: the winning bidder must complete payment within 48 hours of the auction closing.

If the winning bidder doesn't pay within that window, Edition House will offer the item to the next-highest bidder. If no other bids were placed, the item may be relisted in a future auction.

Once payment is completed, the sale is final — see our Refund & Return Policy.

Intellectual property

Artists retain full copyright and reproduction rights to their artwork. Purchasing a print or an original transfers ownership of that physical item only — it does not grant you the right to reproduce, print, or commercially exploit the image itself.

Certificates of authenticity

Eligible purchases (currently Founder Edition prints, with originals and Open Editions to be decided) come with a digital certificate of authenticity issued through Verisart, verifying edition number and provenance.

Order acceptance

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, including for suspected fraud, pricing errors, or inventory issues. If we cancel a paid order, you'll receive a full refund.

Limitation of liability

Edition House and Point Aloha LLC are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or purchase of a product, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
